Hip-Hop Dance Lesson
DESCRIPTION:
Calling all b-boys and b-girls! This activity teaches guests about breakdancing, one of the four classic elements of hip-hop. Breakdancing, or b-boying, was invented in the 1970's as a positive alternative to the gang violence that was heavily present in the Bronx at that time. Instead of physical fights, one gang against the other, young people would "battle" one another with their dance moves.
During this activity tour guests will be introduced to dance techniques while learning a routine to be performed at the end of the class. Hip-hop dance lessons are an excellent means of experiencing hip-hop culture while also getting in a good aerobic workout.
